যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের পররাষ্ট্র দপ্তরের মানব পাচারবিষয়ক প্রতিবেদনে বাংলাদেশের মানব পাচার পরিস্থিতির যে চিত্র তুলে ধরা হয়েছে, তা উদ্বেগজনক- The picture of human trafficking situation that has been highlighted in the report on human trafficking of Department of foreign affairs of USA is a matter of concern. সেদিনই আরেকটি খবরে বলা হয়েছে, ভারতে মানব পাচার বন্ধে প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার অনুরোধ জানিয়ে স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীকে একটি চিঠি পাঠিয়েছেন নয়াদিল্লিতে নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশের হাইকমিশনার- On that day, it is said in another news that High Commissioner of Bangladesh in New Delhi has sent a letter to the Home minister requesting him to take necessary steps in order to stop human trafficking in India. ২৭ জুন

প্রকাশিত যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সরকারের ওই প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, পাচার প্রতিরোধে যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ নিতে না পারায় পরিস্থিতি আগের চেয়েও খারাপ হয়েছে- In that report published on 27 June it is said that, the situation has further deteriorated due to not taking proper measures to prevent human trafficking. এ কারণে পাচার রোধের দিক থেকে বাংলাদেশকে এক ধাপ নামিয়ে ‘দুই নম্বর ধাপের নজরদারিতে’ থাকা দেশের তালিকায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। এটা খুবই দুঃখজনক- Because of this, Bangladesh has been enlisted in the list of 'Tier 2 Watch list' displacing from Tier 1. It is really a matter of sorrow. মানব পাচার আমাদের বড় সমস্যাগুলোর একটি। অথচ সরকারের এ ব্যাপারে যতটা নজর দেওয়ার দরকার ছিল, ততটা নেই। এটা কোনোভাবেই গ্রহণযোগ্য নয়- Human trafficking is one of the major problems of our country. But the goverment did not pay heed the issue as much as it was needed. It is not acceptable by any means. মার্কিন পররাষ্ট্র দপ্তরের প্রতিবেদন অনুযায়ী, সরকার মানব পাচারবিষয়ক অপরাধের তদন্ত, মামলা পরিচালনা ও অপরাধীর দণ্ড দেওয়া ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ নেয়নি- According to the report of foreign affairs department of USA, the government has not take proper measures on investigating the crime, conducting suits and giving punishment to the criminals etc related to human trafficking. ফলে মানব পাচার বেড়েই চলেছে। পাচার হওয়া মানুষদের মধ্যে নারী ও শিশুর সংখ্যা বেশি। আবার, দিল্লিতে বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনারের চিঠি অনুযায়ী, এসব নারী-শিশুর বেশির ভাগকেই ভারতে পাচার করা হচ্ছে- As a result, human trafficking is going up. Among the victim, women and children are the highest in number. Again, according to the letter of HC of Bangladesh in New Delhi, most of these women and children are being trafficked to India. দুই প্রতিবেশী দেশের পাচারকারী চক্র বাংলাদেশের দরিদ্র নারী ও শিশুদের সরলতা ও অসচেতনতাকে পুঁজি করে তাদের বিক্রি করে দিচ্ছে ভারতের যৌনপল্লিগুলোতে- The traffickers of the two neighboring countries are selling the poor women and children of Bangladesh in the brothel by exploiting their simplicity and unconsciousness. হাইকমিশনারের চিঠিতে বলা হয়েছে, বাংলাদেশে মানব পাচার রোধে আইন প্রয়োগের শিথিলতা ও সচেতনতার অভাব ভারতে মানব পাচারের পথ করে দিচ্ছে- According to the letter of High Commissioner, looseness in enforcing law and lack of consciousness in preventing human trafficking are paving the way of human trafficking in India. কাজেই মানব পাচার রোধে সরকারকে আরও কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ নিতে হবে। এখানে হেলাফেলা করারকোনো সুযোগ নেই- So the government need to take more stringent and effective steps in order to prevent human trafficking. পাচার রোধে আইনের কঠোর প্রয়োগের পাশাপাশি সচেতনতামূলক কার্যক্রম গ্রহণসহ নানা সুপারিশ করা হয়েছে- In the report of the foreign affairs department of USA and the letter of High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India there have been various Recommendations including stringent enforcement of the law along with taking awareness program to prevent human trafficking. সরকারকে ওই সব সুপারিশ অনুযায়ী কাজকরতে হবে- The government has to work according to those recommendations.
